DC-IN-A-BOX™ Wins Award
A GridApp™-supported core technology project—Exelon Corporation’s DC-IN-A-BOX™ Substation Design—has received the 2005 Utility Automation &
Engineering T&D Project of the Year Award in the category of Transmission & Distribution (T&D)
engineering. See Press Release.
The Exelon DC-IN-A-BOX™ project has received funding support for field performance evaluation from Concurrent Technologies Corporation (the GridApp™ organizer) through its cooperative agreement award from
the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability (OE).
Joint RFP on GridWise and GridWorks
This FY 2005 request for cooperative R&D proposals was closed on July 8, 2005.
Under the GridWise Program Topic Areas, #1-4, the following proposals were selected and awarded:

Electric Distribution R&D Peer Review
May 25-26, 2006 — San Ramon, California
The Annual Program and Peer Review Meeting for the Electric Distribution R&D Program was held May 25-26, 2006, in San Ramon, California. This meeting offered an opportunity to learn more about the Program's mission, goals, objectives, and leadership.
All currently funded projects were presented and reviewed by an expert peer review panel. In addition to improving program management efficiencies, the review served as an opportunity for information exchange among colleagues and interested parties to further collaboration and cooperation.

GridApp™ Informational Outreach Meeting & Developing the Modern Grid Workshop
November 8-10, 2005 — Mesa, Arizona
A GridApp™ informational outreach meeting open to invited utilities interested in membership was held November 8.
In conjunction with the GridApp™ meeting, a 1.5-day workshop on "Developing the Modern Grid" was held November 9-10. This workshop event was jointly organized by CTC and SAIC under DOE sponsorship.

GridWise Constitutional Convention
December 6 & 7, 2005 — Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
The GridWise Architecture Council convened an initial principle set of “federated parties” to establish a constitution that will guide critical future technology advancement over the next 10-30 years to realize a healthy, self-sustaining, highly interoperable electric supply system. The historic and groundbreaking GridWise Constitutional Convention took place in Philadelphia on December 6-7, 2005.
